For Becca and Terry Heer, Annunciation isn’t simply where they work. It is home.
Terry taught there for decades. Becca grew up there and returned to teach in the same community that raised her. On August 27, mother and daughter were both inside the church – each caring for children, neither able to let herself think about whether the other was safe.
Their conversation is also about everything that came afterward: the quiet, daily work of helping children feel safe enough to learn, laugh and be children again.
